An Attitude Of Gratitude In 2015

An Attitude Of Gratitude In 2015

– By Dr Nav Ropra.

A new year can mean a new set of priorities.  A new year symbolises another beginning and a fresh start at things.  Gusto and determination to start to plan life from a new perspective.

Growing is an essential component in life and doing things new and differently will lead to new adventures and ideas which you may never have dreamed of.

My top tips for 2015 are:

1. Find out what is truly meaningful for you

Deep inside the core of every human being is a desire to do something unique in the world. Find out what this is for you and a way you can share it with the world and be magnificently paid.  Then your vocation becomes your vacation.  This is the greatest gift you can do for yourself.

2.  Create a hobby

A hobby is something which allows spontaneous creativity and gives you a connection with what it is you are doing.  If you are too involved with work, then use the hobby as a distraction where your mind body and spirit can get time to expand in other ways.

3.  Have a savings plan

Money can come into a person’s life and just as easily leave.  Having a sense of self worth will lead you to saving money for yourself instead of spending money.  A savings plan which gives a direction for your finances to grow will also help you to grow.

4.  Turn your failures into fuel

We can get stuck in life when we feel that we did something and it didn’t go as planned.  This can cause us to contract and constrict our growth in life.  Instead of becoming stuck learn from what happened and change your life so that it doesn’t happen again.  Don’t spend time dwelling on your problems, instead create solutions.

5.  Empower your health

Your health is something not to be taken lightly.  Working all hours of the day and sacrificing health for financial gains can lead to a richer but shorter life. Start with doing little things like taking the stairs instead of the lift and then build up to bigger ways of getting fit.

6.  Keep learning new things

We can get stuck with routine and our habits and our lives can plateau.  Learning new things can unleash new creativity.  It can also help to meet new people and make new friends.

7.  Have contingencies

If you are starting a new project, practice  or relationship, make a list of the possible contingencies that could go wrong and always have a list of alternatives that you can do so that it is a win-win situation for all involved.

8.  Reward yourself

Getting lost in doing things all the time may mean that you are not rewarding yourself for making accomplishments in life.  Going out for a meal, going to the movies, planning a party, or a simple night in with yourself or loved ones can be ways of showing appreciation of one self. Do this more often and life will create a different meaning for you.

9.  Do one thing at a time

It is scientifically proven that multi tasking can lead to inefficiencies.  Doing one thing and doing it well to completion gives the drive and incentive to do more and the confidence to keep moving in life.

10.  Keep your goals practical and obtainable

If you want to fly and defy the laws of gravity or biology, then the chances are it will not happen.  You will be frustrated and disappointed with yourself. Hence making a goal that is practical and realistic will ensure that they are obtainable.  The next step is to ensure that you carry out the action steps for you to get there.

11.  Wake up early

Wasting the day by waking up late will mean that you have knock on effects on your work and aptitude.  Start to wake up a little earlier every week, just by 5 minutes and within a few months, you will become acclimatised to a whole hour of day which you never had before.  In one year, that will be just over 15 more days of time which you never had.  How does that sound?

12  Ask for help

The greatest leaders in the world ask for help when they are stuck.   Asking for help is a sign of strength and not weakness.  However, it is wise to be mindful who you ask advice from.

14.  Have a balance in life

Life is dialectical.  It has both night and day, male and female energies.  These are needed to create balance.  if you are doing too much of one thing, then look at the reasons why you are doing it and you will be surprised at what you will discover.  When our lives are out of balance, it is generally an avoidance of something.  Find that out in order to regain balance.

15.  Be mindful of your time

Time is something which you will never get more of.  So don’t waste it in 2015.  Make it as precious as a loved one and treat it with care and respect, and you will be rewarded in return.

16.  Be grateful for your life

A person who is grateful regardless of what it going on around them is one who has found the source of life.  The very essence of creation.  Life will send many challenges and have many supports.  Learning how to be grateful for both so that you are not side-tracked from your purpose, will keep you on purpose in 2015.

It leaves me to say thank you for a Grateful 2014 and I look forwards to meeting you in 2015.
